Does this sound familiar?

Three quiet patterns I see in almost every founder who comes to me.

From the outside, things look fine. The business is working. But you've noticed something underneath — and you're right to notice it.

01

Everything runs through you.

Every decision. Every client conversation. Every detail. You can't take a real break because nothing else can hold the weight — and you're not sure how it would feel to step back, even if you could.

02

Growth creates pressure, not space.

Every new client, every milestone, every win adds to the load instead of relieving it. Growth doesn't feel like freedom — it feels like another floor of the same overwhelm.

03

You've built a brand. Now you need a business.

You've earned an audience. You've earned trust. But the revenue still depends on you showing up. You're ready for proper infrastructure underneath what you've built — and you're ready to stop being the bottleneck.

The role transformation

From operator to owner.

The work isn't just about the systems. It's about who you become once the systems exist. This is what shifts when the foundations hold.

  1. iYour week changes shape — you spend it on what only you can do.
  2. iiRevenue becomes predictable and you understand exactly where it comes from.
  3. iiiDecisions get easier because the system underneath supports them.
  4. ivYou can hire properly — because there's something for new people to step into.
  5. vYou become the founder of your business again. Not the operator. Not the glue.

About Deb

Twenty years of walking into the complexity.

I started at 16 in an accountancy practice in Liverpool. From there I moved through commercial analytics and operations — Kepak, Yodel, TransUnion — taking on tangled environments and turning them into something that actually worked.

In 2018 I went out on my own. Now I run Sovereign Ops, and I have skin in the game as Majority Shareholder & CEO of The Naked Doula and Shareholder at Her9. I home educate my two girls from our home in the Lake District.

I don't just advise on business building. I do it — and that's what makes the partnership work different.

Depending on where you are — and where you're heading.

Each pathway exists for a different moment. The right one is the one that meets you where you actually are right now.

The things people most often want to know first.

An agency executes tasks. Sovereign Ops is an operational partnership. The 90-Day Build rebuilds the foundations of your business — your systems, your customer journey, your visibility, your automation. After that, the retainer keeps the engine running while you focus on the work only you can do. You stop being a client and start being a partner.
Women founders running businesses between roughly £100k and £1m turnover. Often you've built an influencer-style brand and a real audience. Now you want to turn it into something that doesn't collapse if you stop posting. You're tired of being the bottleneck, and you're ready to invest in real infrastructure.
Sovereign Ops is the operations partnership — a structured Build followed by a monthly retainer. The Circle is something deeper: a small, private group of founders where the relationship goes beyond retainer, into equity, revenue share, or hybrid arrangements. It's only ever entered by conversation. Most clients start with Sovereign Ops and a small number move into The Circle when the fit is right.
I'm Majority Shareholder and CEO of The Naked Doula, and a Shareholder at Her9. I'm not just advising on businesses — I'm building them. That changes the quality of the work, because I'm making the same kinds of decisions you're making, with my own equity on the line.
When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or Gemini a question your business should be the answer to — does your business come up? Increasingly, customers are starting their research in AI tools rather than Google. We make sure your business is visible there, and we track which questions you're being cited for over time. It's a quiet but important shift in how search is changing.
I'm based in the Lake District. Most work is remote — calls, screen-shares, documented strategy. I home educate my daughters alongside the work, which means I value flexibility — and I look for clients who do too.
